A final look before publishing
When you’ve read over and over your work, and had others read and edit it, you’re ready for a final proofread. This is a double-check of grammar and punctuation, as well as formatting and layout. As proofreaders, we not only look for anything the copyeditor missed, we also look for anything that may have crept into the document while making changed during the editing process.
